As the Manager of Store Operations at Staples US Retail, you will serve as the strategic leader driving the vision, roadmap, and execution of key operational programs that enable our business to grow and scale. In this role, you will influence long‑term strategy, lead complex cross‑functional initiatives, and ensure that programs are designed to drive operational excellence, sales performance, and an outstanding customer experience across all stores.

You’ll lead high‑impact work that turns strategy into durable, field‑ready solutions—simplifying execution, improving consistency, and elevating the confidence and capability of our associates.

Key Responsibilities and Deliverables:

  • Lead the strategy, development, and end‑to‑end ownership of programs for Staples US Retail
  • Drive alignment with cross-functional teams, including Communications, Merchandising, and Marketing.
  • Identify systemic friction points across store operations and design scalable solutions, tools, and routines that simplify work and enhance consistency of execution.
  • Develop frameworks and standards that ensure programs are easy to adopt, easy to train, and easy to sustain across the chain of stores.
  • Partner with DMs to gather insights, validate assumptions, and ensure programs perform effectively in store environments.
  • Implement field pilots, change management strategies, and rollout plans that drive high adoption and strong execution at scale.
  • Collaborate with the Selling and Engagement team to define the associate behaviors, customer interactions, and in-store experiences that drive sales and operational excellence.
  • Leverage data, analytics, and field insights to assess program performance and address operational gaps.
  • Serve as an operational thought leader and subject matter expert for internal teams and vendor partners, ensuring strong alignment and end-to-end support for all initiatives.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, or related field; MBA preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in retail operations, services, or program management.
  • Proven ability to simplify complex processes and drive frontline adoption.
  • Strong project management, communication, and cross-functional leadership skills.
  • Deep customer focus and field-first mindset.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience working with Learning & Development, sales enablement, or field training teams.
  • Background in tech services or consumer tech retail is a strong plus.

The salary range represents the expected compensation for this role at the time of posting. The specific base pay may be influenced by a variety of factors to include the candidate's experience, skill set, education, geography, business considerations, and internal equity.In addition to base pay, this role may be eligible for bonuses, or other forms of variable compensation.
